Our interdisciplinary conference aims to connect doctoral students, academics, architects, engineers, heritage specialists, landscape architects and other professionals. We aim not merely to lecture, but to foster genuine dialogue on the challenges that unite us. It seeks to bring together people who care about the values of landscape, settlements and monuments, and welcomes original contributions in the form of research papers, case studies and critical reflections.
The conference addresses three thematic areas:
Landscape – cultural landscape, its values, transformations, protection and future.
Settlements – cities, villages, urban structures, architecture and development.
Monuments – heritage protection, conservation, typology and cultural identity.
The official languages of the conference are Czech and Slovak.
The Landscape – Settlements – Monuments Conference is included in the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme of the Czech Chamber of Architects.

Reviewer selection: Reviewers are chosen based on expertise and experience in the relevant field.
Conflict of interest: Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest and decline to review if a conflict exists.
Expected review time: The peer review process typically takes 4–6 weeks from assignment to reviewers.

The Institute of Architecture at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Brno University of Technology, was established in 2005 as the youngest architectural school in the Czech Republic. It offers a four-year bachelor’s and a two-year master’s programme, firmly linked to practice through compulsory internships in architectural studios. The institute combines the technical expertise of a large civil engineering faculty with a strong emphasis on architectural design, urbanism, heritage conservation and fine arts. Teaching is delivered in eight specialised studios, supported by both academic staff and practising Brno architects, ensuring students receive comprehensive preparation for their professional careers. The Institute is the main organiser of the Landscape – Settlements – Monuments Conference.
